On the strength of the third hole-in-one of his career, Tom McClintock picked up another TRGA win at the Hiawatha Golf Club in Tomah, WI on Sunday. McClintock aced the par 3 sixth hole, but wasn't immediately sure that his tee shot had found the bottom of the cup. "The ball disappeared into the shadow on the green. I knew it was close, but didn't realize it went in right away" said McClintock, who finished with a two-under-par 70. Scott Erickson and Connor Frawley finished tied for second place with 73. Jon Wilscon from LaCrescent, MN was fourth with a 76.
Tim Darwin was the men's first flight winner. His 77 was three strokes better than Rick Stewart and Tom Dejarlais, who tied for second place at 80. Darwin fired an even-par 36 on the front nine.
Jeremiah Shimshak rebounded from a tough tournament at Cedar Creek to pick up another victory in second flight. His 81 gave him a three shot cushion over runner-up Jim Gilbertson who carded an 84.
In the third flight, Paul Jackson won with an 84. Kevin Burch made a late charge to take second place at 86.
Jeff Osgood was really steady on his way to a fourth flight win. He had nothing more than a six on any hole as he shot 85. Dan Breeden was second with 90. No win for Breeden, but another nice weather day!
Bob Byrne was the fifth flight winner after shooting a 94. David Sanchez was right behind him finishing with a 96.
In women's championship action, Lynn Lenz was in the zone all day. She finished with a 77, after cruising through the front nine at even par.
And Cathi Baus won the women's flighted division with a net 76. It was her fourth win of the season.
