TRGA Juniors Policies

Membership Requirements

  • Player membership to the TRGA Juniors is required for individual tournament entries, golf club "lease," and any special events.
  • Players must meet the following requirements:
    • Be between the ages of 8 and 18
    • Both boys and girls are eligible
    • Resident of Wisconsin, Minnesota or Iowa

Components of TRGA Player Membership

  • Eligibiliy for TRGA Junior tournaments (see Tournament Entry form for TRGA tournament format)
  • Eligibility for "free golf club lease" program
  • Personal notification of free TRGA Juniors clinics

Association Executive Committee reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any player who does not meet membership critieria.

Tournament Format

Ages 8-13

  • Three (3) courses will host 9-hole tournaments
  • Each 9-hole stroke-play tournament will normally consist of six (6) flights. Flights are assigned based upon age on the day of the event. Flights are assigned as follows:
    • Boys 8-9
    • Girls 8-9
    • Boys 10-11
    • Girls 10-11
    • Boys 12-13
    • Girls 12-13
  • Player entry fee is $10.00 and includes the 9-hole greens fee and awards.

Ages 12-18

  • Six (6) courses will host 18-hole tournaments
  • Each 18-hole stroke-play tournament will normally consist of six (6) flights. Flights are assigned based upon age on the day of the event. Flights are assigned as follows:
    • Boys 12-13
    • Girls 12-13
    • Boys 14-15
    • Girls 14-15
    • Boys 16-18
    • Girls 16-18
  • Player entry fee is $15.00 and includes the 18-hole greens fee, lunch and awards.

Additional Rules and Regulations

  • In the event that there are less than four (4) contestants in an age group, contestants will move up to the next age bracket.
  • An engry cap of 150 players per tournament is in effect.
  • Entries close and must be received by the TRGA no later than 7 p.m., seven (7) days prior to the individual tournament date. In the event the tournament entry limit is met prior to the deadline, a waiting list will be formed in the order entries are received.
  • Entry fees and forms must be mailed to the TRGA or dropped off at Forest Hills. Fees and forms will not be accepted at tournament host facilities.
  • Entry fees will not be refunded after entry deadline.
  • Starting tee times and each flight's starting tee are the prerogative of the host corse. Flight order is the prerogative of the host course.
  • Tee times will be available at all TRGA member courses two (2) days before the tournament date.
  • Caddies are not allowed. Outside advise is not allowed during competition. Breach of this rule results in disqualification.
  • Players interested in practice rounds should consult the host professional.
  • TRGA Juniors requires the use of non-metal spikes. Accordingly, metal or ceramic spikes may not be used at TRGA tournaments. Players who do not conform will be prohibited from play and forfeit their entry fee.
  • Dress code: Proper golfing attire must be worn at all times. Cut-offs, jeans, tank tops, and gym shorts will not be allowed. Players who do not conform will be prohibited from play and forfeit their entry fee.
  • Tournament Committee reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any player who does not meet tournament criteria.
