TRGA Releases 2017 Adult Schedule

The TRGA has released the 2017 adult schedule, which will again include 10 regular-season 18-hole events and the 36-hole two-day TRGA Championship in August.

For the second-straight year, the season will start with back-to-back tournaments. Valley High will host the opener on Saturday, April 29 followed the next day with the Fox Hollow Open. "Our players really enjoyed the opening weekend last year" said TRGA Executive Director Jim Socha. "It's a great way to say goodbye to winter (hopefully) by competing in our own little TRGA holiday weekend!"

The rest of the regular-season will consist of tournaments at Viroqua Hills, Cedar Valley, Drugan's Castle Mound, The Golf Club at Cedar Creek, Hiawatha, Trempealeau Mountain, River Run and Forest Hills. The TRGA Championship will be held at The Bridges and The La Crosse Country Club. Again this year, the winner of the TRGA Championship will earn an exemption to the 2018 WSGA Wisconsin Amateur. Mike Drugan, the winner of last year's TRGA Championship will play in the Wisconsin State Amateur this summer.

New Men's Gold Flight

One significant change this season affects what had been the men's 5th flight or men's net flight. That division will now be called the Gold Flight. Men with a TRGA index of 18.0 or higher will be eligible for the Gold Flight. All players will play from the gold tees. "Our members seem excited to play our great golf courses from a more manageable distance" said Socha. "We're hoping to see a few more birdies from our guys who don't hit the ball quite as far as they used to!"

Two Person Best-Ball Returns

And for the second year, The Golf Club at Cedar Creek will host the TRGA 2-Person Best-Ball on September 17, 2017.
