Relentless TRGA Players Beat the Weather This Time

It's becoming a weekly routine.   TRGA golfers layer-up with rain gear and plan on getting home late.   Mother Nature did her best to disrupt the TRGA Cedar Valley Open in Winona, MN.    However this week all flights were able to finish.

Viroqua native Troy Dobbe held off Ben Socha for the win in Championship flight.   Dobbe finished with a one-over-par 73.   Socha, making his first start of the season settled for 76.

Tony Friedl's streaky putter was working a Cedar Valley.   The veteran posted a 10-over-par 82, three strokes better than Joe Hunter.

The most exciting finish of the day came in Third Flight.   Keith Seidel and Monte Jacobson were tied at 86 after their first 18 holes.    Then they endured a second rain delay and four extra holes before Seidel pulled out the win on the par-4 second hole.

Steve Crogan made his first appearance this season in the Gold Flight a good one.  Crogan cruised to an 85, which was two strokes better than runner-up Mike Fortin who shot an 87.

Terry Ziegelbauer won the Women's Flighted division.

Next weekend will be a busy one for the TRGA.   Two make-up dates are on the schedule.   Saturday's Valley High Open will be played in Houston, MN.

Sunday everyone will be back in La Crosse for the Fox Hollow Open.
