2020 TRGA Tees Off May 30

Barring any setbacks, the 2020 TRGA season will get started Saturday, May 30 at River Run Golf Course in Sparta, WI.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the season was in doubt until recently. "We're very pleased we will be playing tournament golf this summer. However, the most important thing is that we do that safely, in total compliance with all of the health rules and guidelines, which have been changing on a weekly basis" said TRGA Executive Director Jim Socha.

The New Normal for the TRGA looks like this:

Social Distancing: Players stay a minimum of 6 feet from everyone at all times.

30-Minutes Early: Players may arrive at course no earlier than 30 minutes prior to tee time.

Limited Carts: Under the mandate from Governor Tony Evers, only 1 player per cart. No exceptions. Therefore, the TRGA will be handling all cart reservations on a first-come, first serve basis. The total number of carts available per facility will be listed on www.trgagolf.com and on the TRGA tournament entry forms. Players who choose to ride, will pay tournament fee ($40) AND cart fee ($18) in advance with tournament registration. All checks payable to TRGA. You will be notified if TRGA receives your entry after all carts have already been purchased for any individual event. "We do anticipate having enough carts for the tournaments" said Socha. "However, we strongly encourage players to walk if they can to allow those who can't to be able to rent a cart." (Number of available carts is listed below)

Modified Holes: All holes will be filled with 3 inch foam filler. When holed, the ball will be easily removed. Also for tournament play the ball must come to rest in the the cup in order to be holed. It's either IN or OUT.

No Rakes: All rakes are removed from bunkers. Play mark, lift, clean and place within 12".

No Range: The practice range will be closed.

Putting Green Limit: The putting green will be limited to 6 people. (That's the next 2 groups scheduled to play) Again, no exceptions. Social Distancing must be followed.

Quick Exit: Players will leave property within 10 minutes of completing their round of golf.

No Playoffs: First-Place ties will be broken by scorecard playoff based on #1 handicap hole…etc

No Award Ceremony: Tournament results will be posted at www.trgagolf.com the night of the event. Awards will be available at each individual golf course at a time when the pro shops are able to be open for business. (subject to days and hours of operation)

Carts/Facility: River Run (27), Drugan's (55), Viroqua (38), Cedar Creek (58), Fox Hollow (75), Valley High (36), Trempealeau (68) and Hiawatha (38)
